None of us are
strangers to hard times. In fact, Jesus promised that in this world we will
have tribulation (John 16:33), so we should not be surprised when bad things
happen to us. More often than not, these troublesome occasions only serve to
remind us that as Christians, we are not home yet.
One of the best remedies for these times when life hands us lemons is to find a person who has walked a mile in our shoes, someone who has been through what we are facing, and has found the light at the end of the tunnel.
Did you know that Jesus has experienced everything that you are facing? Whatever difficult dilemma you face, Jesus has been there. Everything about His earthly life shows that He had the roughest life of all. From His birth in a barn, to His death between two thieves, and the fact that He was homeless and forsaken, He was definitely a man “acquainted with sorrows.”
He was born like an animal, lived like a beggar, and died like a criminal.
So next time you are feeling down, why not cry out to the One who has been there? He knows exactly how you feel. And remember that verse that said we will have tribulation in this world? Well Jesus finished that verse by leaving us this piece of hope: Be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.
